Where it all began
Our Story
It all started as a little girl collecting travel magazines in my parents’ home. The beautiful images captured in the many different states, and countries drew me in. I knew one day, that I would be the one behind the camera taking the amazing shots. Growing up, I adored taking pictures and getting the angle right. I would take over a hundred photos until the picture taken met my expectations.
As a child, I also owned the classic Polaroid camera, I mean who hasn’t owned one of those? Continuing throughout life, I became a young teenage mother. I worked, I was in college, and I took care of my daughter. I'm so grateful for God and the village that encouraged, motivated, and uplifted me. If you're a young mother or a young parent in general never stop pushing, and never stop praying.
It was in my darkest moments when God brought me through. I met my husband and got married in 2016. With a desire to continue to expand our little family with a child together, God blessed our family with a second child, a rainbow child. A rainbow child is a child given by God to a family who has experienced multiple miscarriages. It’s the rainbow after the storm of many trials, and tribulations of trying to conceive.
I started tracking our baby girl’s growth milestones, and that’s when it hit me. I enjoy telling stories with my camera and grasping an audience with my lens. My husband decided to invest in my passion and gifted me a camera for Christmas. I then began writing down business names, until I fell in love with the merged name of our oldest daughter’s first name but spelled differently, and our second child’s middle name. The creation of LeahGrace represents our children.
After researching, building my portfolio, networking, creating my website, and registering my business, it was at that moment when my passion became a reality. Now, this took place during the year 2021 going into the year 2023. We had two miscarriages in 2018, and 2019. In January, of 2023 God gave us another unexpected blessing. We found out we were expecting a second *boy!
At this moment in my life, I needed a balance between, work, life, and family. I went back to college to finish what I started, and I did. I graduated from Strayer University with my BBA in 2023. My goal was to obtain a career in my degree field, that provides more pay, and more career advancement. I came across several, and all I had to do was submit my resume.
The ongoing problem was that I needed something where my schedule would work around my children. I decided to leave my corporate job of ten in a half years, to allow my body to heal from my first major surgery, a C-section. I also wanted to eliminate any stressors that would affect my anxiety. Having kids, especially smaller children we have to make sacrifices, and my motto was ALWAYS that my children come first. I'm Very grateful that GOD put our family in a place that allows me to do so.
Making that decision about my career led me to pursue a passion of mine, that I always had as a child. In conclusion, that’s how I became a mompreneur and took control over being available and present for my number 1 priority, my children, and my husband. You may also notice that not all but some of my packages will have gemstone colors. This represents the birthstone of each one of my children, my grandmothers, my father, and my mother. To give you a quick back story, ALL of my children were a part of major milestones throughout my life.
I wanted to incorporate that within my business because my primary focus is family!
Family is a Cherished Gift from God
